How will Oliver react to Felicitys new boyfriend in Arrow season 5 Heres what Stephen Amell has to say Emily Bett Rickards has confirmed that fans will meet. Felicity Emily Bett Rickards will sever ties with Oliver Stephen Amell and the team in the upcoming episode of Arrow. In the episode titled Dangerous Liaisons. Following the midseason finales shocking death, the Arrow producer team teases the dark turn Felicity will take in the second half of season 5. The series got its foundation by creating a fresh take on the Green Arrow origin story and built a semi grounded playground for the character to grow in. The world grew exponentially when they introduced Barry Allen and the existence of meta humans in subsequent seasons. Since that point, Arrow has increasingly leaned into the shows comic book origins and gradually lightened its tone as well. There have been clear signs that the show intends to get back some of its edge in the upcoming season however. Recently, actor Stephen Amell promised a refocused show, with mind blowing new action sequences. While the CW networks success is largely built on shows with fantastical elements, such as Supernatural and The Flash. Initially, Arrow represented the gritty window into the world of DC Comics through the lens of a heroic vigilante. By season 4, the show had branched off from its grounded roots by increasing the amount of humor, romance, and elements of the supernatural. In order for any show to stand the test of time, it needs to continually reinvent itself. In a recent edition of TV Line, Arrow showrunner Wendy Mericle explained how they plan to redefine the action and raise the stakes in the fifth season I can say it looks amazing. Were now part of this. Its bloody. Youre in it. Were doing a lot more. Stephen has been a huge proponent of doing that, and its going to feel real and in your face. Evoking Game of Thrones levels of violence could ultimately be disappointing, by setting an unrealistically high bar for the network show to reach. However, setting such a lofty goal should at least help the show evolve in a positive direction. Arrow intends on getting up close and personal with its action scenes, which should help to distinguish it from the lighter nature of other CW superhero shows, like The Flash and Supergirl. During last months San Diego Comic Con, Amell made mention of the show getting back to its street level crime fighting make Star City better show roots in the upcoming season. Mericles thoughts about the scale and tone of the action seem to be in line with the actors previous comments, which should be encouraging to skeptical fans. While Arrow will be picking up its intensity, there are still large emotional threads that have to be dealt with. Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Rickards, went through the grinder last season. Mericle explains that the computer whiz will be in a very different place during the season opener Shes in a very similar place to Dig. Shes really grappling with what happened in Havenrock, consumed with that guilt. Shes lost her company. And the one thing she has in this life in the bunker. So shes doubled down on doing that. Until she gets past what happened in Havenrock, shes going to stay in that state of limbo. It seems many of the members of Team Arrow will be focusing their pain directly into crimefighting, while still harbouring deep, untreated emotional wounds. Felicity has had to endure her share of trauma in recent seasons, with her struggling through rocky relationships, new family revelations, and even paralysis. Hopefully, the Arrow writers have found a slightly less polarizing way to handle the Olicity drama than previous seasons. The fifth season is said to feature a heavier emphasis on street level villains and vigilantes for Team Arrow to contend with. The addition of actors with histories as tough guys, such as Chad L. Coleman and Dolph Lundgren, signal that the physicality of the show will pick up in its fifth season. After season 3 and 4, Arrow may have lost the attention of some of its original fanbase. We will find out this fall if the changes in relationships and more dynamic action scenes will result in a resurgence in the show. The Flash season 3 will premiere Tuesday October 4th at 8pm on The CW, Arrow season 5 will premiere in the same timeslot on Wednesday October 5th, Supergirl season 2 on Monday October 1. Legends of Tomorrow season 2 on Thursday October 1. Felicity Walks Her Own Path in Season 5. In many ways, Arrow. Introducing a large batch of new characters, one of the most admirable and exciting aspects of the season so far has been its willingness to throw out traditional character dynamics and cliches giving the series the kind of mature, refreshing pace and tone that feels fitting for a superhero series thats been on the air as long as Arrow has. After having continuously changed the Team Arrow roster as well, the shows 2. Billy Malone, Felicitys Emily Bett Rickards love interest in the season. Billys death, as most fans are already aware, came at the hands of Oliver Stephen Amell, after being tricked into killing the police detective by the villainous Prometheus. In the episode itself, Felicity seemed to handle the news much better than fans might have expected, or she might have in one of the shows earlier seasons. However, it now sounds like Malones death may send Felicity down a path unlike any shes been on before. Speaking with EW, executive producer Marc Guggenheim talked about what fans can expect from the second half of Arrow season 5, and teased specifically, how it will test Felicitys moral compass in a way that really only Oliver and some of the other characters have encountered before in which shell be tempted to take shortcuts in the hopes of bringing justice to Prometheus At the beginning of every year, we figure out What do we want to see our characters go through What are their emotional journeys for the season We were intrigued by the idea of Felicity flirting with the dark side. The reason I say flirting is Felicity is very much the light of the show she provides a lot of lightness in what is otherwise a very dark drama. One thing you dont want to do is you dont want to tell a story where she suddenly starts becoming this dark element. You dont want to tell a story where all the reasons why people love the character are gone. Its this delicate balancing act. In the wake of Malones death, shes very influenced by her prior four years of watching Oliver and Diggle and Laurel, Roy Colton Haynes, and Thea Willa Holland for that matter. Shes been watching Team Arrow respond to darkness with what I would describe as moral compromise. What weve done is weve found a story where Felicity could be tempted by taking moral shortcuts in the name of the greater good, which is very much in keeping with the central dilemma at the heart of the whole show, which is becoming judge, jury, and executioner is the ultimate moral shortcut. Shes not going to become judge, jury, and executioner, shes not going to become a killer, but we found the Felicity version, or the Felicity equivalent, of making a moral compromise in order to accomplish good. I dont think shes really pushing everyone away, but shes definitely on her own path. After taking more than a month off for its winter hiatus, Arrow is set to return tonight with Who Are You, an episode that will feature Oliver and the rest of the team trying to come to terms with and understand the truth behind Laurels unexpected and unexplained return, while Felicity begins her road to vengeance on Prometheus. Following the villains big moves in the final couple of episodes last year too, it seems like Arrow has some big plans in mind for the rest of the season as it tries to not only keep the momentum from its midseason finale going, but also maintain a certain sense of mystery around its main villain, for at least a little while longer. Just a little less than halfway through the season, though, and already Prometheus is shaping up to be one of Arrow. Unpredictable, merciless, and calculated, hes the kind of mental and physical match that Oliver really hasnt faced in quite some time, and one that forces him to reckon with the mistakes and choices hes made over the past five years since returning to Star City. It looks like Oliver wont be the only member of Team Arrow forced to suffer the consequences either, and seeing how Felicity evolves and struggles in this second half of the season should prove to be one of its most interesting and emotional storylines. Arrow returns to The CW tonight with. The Aviator Movie Watch Online.
