Bae Watch Power Rankings since the very first episode, doesn’t really change the outlook of the show; we know that finding love on national television over a few short weeks is pretty much impossible. But it certainly changes our rooting interests, and confirms what people have been complaining about since he was first announced as the next bachelor: NICK IS THE FREAKING WORST, MAN. There was plenty more that happened in this week’s episode, with Taylor immediately confronting Nick about Corinne, a rose ceremony sending home three women in the opening 2. Kristina getting a one- on- one, Jasmine cranking the crazy dial all the way up to 1.

We’re not sure how much of the planning for group dates comes from Nick and how much comes from the show’s producers, who we can only assume are actual demons deriving some sort of sick, masochistic pleasure with every new demeaning idea they come up with. Either way, what started as a simple beach- side party with tequila and sand volleyball quickly unraveled into another display of degradation.
Were the women too liquored up? Corinne needed a nap halfway through the game, Jasmine was about ready to swing on the competition and half the girls (plus Nick) were crying by the end. But seriously, how could anyone think the dramatic end result wasn’t part of the plan the whole time? Like it somehow wasn’t about forcing these women to compete for Nick’s attention — in an athletic event, this time — while he sat on the sideline, keeping score and avoiding looking like a complete pansy (because you KNOW that’s how he would’ve looked trying to do anything even remotely athletic)?
Maybe too much tequila was involved, but Rachel, Vanessa and Danielle M. They’re not dogs jumping through hoops, even if they pretty much asked for this by signing up for love on national TV. For the King of Bachelor group dates, you’d think Nick would’ve been more sensitive to this kind of issue. Or, you know, maybe he knows exactly what the f**k he’s doing.
